We start Unit 3 in LEAD 21 this week!
Theme Question: What makes a good community?
Focus Question: What makes a place good to build a community?
Skills: Homophones, Ask and Answer Questions, Cause and Effect
Spelling: consonant digraphs (sh, th, ch) See list to the right
Writing:
We will begin learning about persuasive writing. We will learn about building an argument, fact vs. opinion, and how to support an argument with evidence.
Math :
We will continue to work on addition and subtraction strategies (it is very important that your child work on their facts to become fluent), but will move on to geometry as well.
This week we will learn geometry vocabulary like attributes, angles, sides, vertices, and faces. We will learn how to sort shapes by these attributes.
Science/Social Studies:
As we learn about communities, we will learn about Billings History.
