Each year, Arrowhead hosts a basket auction at Saturday Live. Each class picks a theme and collects donations to create a beautiful basket full of goodies. Then at Saturday Live, the baskets are auctioned off to the highest bidder. ALL of the proceeds go directly to Arrowhead, and are used for technology improvements, classroom materials, and other classroom projects. Last year, Arrowhead’s basket auction raised over 6,000 dollars!!
Our classroom theme this year is FROZEN (the Disney movie). We are hoping that Frozen fever is still racing through the community, and there will be several eager bidders for our basket. If you are able, we would love to collect donations of NEW Frozen items. Try to think outside the box – DVD’s, CD’s, coloring books, notebooks, toys, pencils, etc. are all great ideas. You could also add things like popcorn and pop or a blue blanket to snuggle up in while watching the movie. You could include a gift card to DQ for “frozen” treats…. Does that make sense? It doesn’t have to go along with the movie… just along with the theme of “Frozen”. Please let me know if you need some suggestions.
Also, I know how valuable your time is. If you would rather donate money to the cause, I can collect funds and pick up some items on the weekend (any excuse to go to Target, am I right?!?).
You are also encouraged to put together a basket as a family or group if you have something in mind. We also invite everyone to Saturday Live at Pioneer Park on September 27th. Don’t forget to visit Arrowhead’s booth at noon for the live auction so you can go home with an amazing collection for yourself.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support. Arrowhead is lucky to have you!
