Not that any one is counting, right? :)
Important Dates:
Monday, Dec. 22: Perform for St. John's and Mission Ridge residents (we walk up from about 9-10)
Wednesday, Dec. 23-Sun, Jan 4: Winter Vacation
Monday, Jan. 5: School resumes
This Week's Objectives:
With our short week, we will tying up some loose ends before the winter break. We will be reviewing addition/subtraction strategies so we can start arrays when we get back. The kids will work on persuasive/opinion writing by trying to convince me that their Christmas tree is the best. We will not have reading groups or centers this week, and will instead focus on reviewing our skills from Unit 3 of LEAD 21 so we can start Unit 4 in January.
Exciting News:
We will be gaining a new member of our classroom in January. Ms. Kuntz, a student at MSU-Billings, will be completing her student teaching in our classroom for a few months. I'm sure your children and I will learn so much from her, and she will in turn learn so much from your children! Look for a letter from Ms. Kuntz soon!
Merry Christmas:
Being a teacher during the holidays is truly the most wonderful gift I could receive. To see the magic of the holidays in your children's faces, to hear their stories of elves and reindeer and cookie baking, is such a joy. Thank you for sharing them with me, and enjoy them over these days off! Remember to keep reading, reading, reading! Merry Christmas!
