Your second grader and his/her class earned another celebration! When the whole class is “caught” following our classroom rules, they get a smilie. If the whole class is struggling with a rule, they get a frownie. At the end of the day, for each point, they earn a marble. If there is a frownie, they take a marble out. When the jar is full, we get a celebration!
This quarter, your children voted on having a Technology Day! The kids may bring in their electronics for ONE DAY ONLY on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd. We will take about a half an hour out of our day to kick back and play some games. If you are uncomfortable bringing technology to school, or don’t have anything to bring, we’ve got you covered! We have lots of fun, educational games on our classroom iPads, or can borrow some from the iPad lab, so everyone will have something to do.
Today’s world can be a scary place for kids and the Internet, so we will also take this opportunity to have a few lessons on Internet safety and appropriate use of technology. We call this “digital citizenship”, and it’s a very important skill and lesson to teach our children so they know how to navigate this crazy new world safely and appropriately.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I’m looking forward to celebrating with your children. They have worked very hard to earn this, and I am proud of their progress!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wilson
