'Twas the week before Christmas Break...
This week we will be finishing our Christmas Around the World unit. So far, we have traveled to America, Mexico, and Spain, and Germany and explored some of their holiday traditions. We are working on comparing and contrasting, and gleaning information from text. With each country, we watch a short Powerpoint presentation, read an article, and highlight different phonics or grammar skills. Then we do a small craft to take home as a "souvenir". This week, we visit Italy and England.
We will also be finishing up our chapter on Graphing in Go Math. This will lead us right into Geometry when we return from break. The kids will continue to practice fluency in addition and subtraction to twenty as well.
Due to our unexpected Snow Day, we will reschedule our Pajama Day for Wednesday this week. Thursday is already slated for "Festive Sweater" day, so Wednesday should work just fine. Please be sure your student will be warm and able to learn throughout the day. They may also bring a stuffed animal for the day.
There will be no school on Friday. Please enjoy your families and the peace and comfort of this holiday season with those you love!
I am so grateful for my students and the families with whom I work. Thank you for all of your support, and for sending me your children loved and ready to learn! Merry Christmas!
