This Week's Objectives
Week Six is always a review week for Wonders, which means we get to take a little break and review the skills taught over the unit with different materials.
This week we will be focusing on our next PLTW module, Our Changing Earth. This focuses on map skills, continents, and events like landslides, erosion, and other natural disasters that shape our Earth.
We will also be working on opinion pieces in writing. We will read a Who Would Win book, but save the ending. Then the kids will write their opinion of who would win the battle, basing their choice on text evidence.
In math, we will continue our work with double digit addition and subtraction equations. We are also working on counting coins, making change, and telling time to the nearest five minutes. It's a busy time in math! Please practice these skills at home to solidify what we have learned in class. Many of them are "real life" skills so it makes it easy to do at home.
